Dental Conservation Specialist Dental Education Program has been running since the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No: 139/Dikti/Kep/1984 and No. 141/Dikti/Kep/1984 which makes the Dental Conservation Specialist Education Program one of 7 (seven) specialist dentist education programs.
Currently, the profession of dentist specialist in conservation of teeth is needed by the community because of the high prevalence of dental caries and diseases/disorders of pulp tissue and tooth periapex in Indonesia. This supports the dentistry paradigm in maintaining and improving the function of the stomatognathic system. Therefore, efforts are needed to prevent, treat and rehabilitate dental hard tissue disorders/disease and periapex abnormalities so that they do not result in tooth loss. Then the assessment of professional work will be based on evidence based dentistry, namely performance to treat the disease/disorder mentioned above based on the utilization of valid, up-to-date evidence in patient management.
The vision of the dental conservation science study program is to produce conservation specialist dentists with an international perspective who are able to develop knowledge and use the latest technology based on the use of valid evidence in patient management so that an Indonesian dental conservation specialist dentist must have abilities consisting of 3 domains including professionalism, Advance Academic Abilities and Advanced Clinical Expertise.

Greetings. I’m drg. Nurhayaty Natsir, Ph.D, Sp.KG(K) as Chair of Endodontic Specialist Program, Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University, Makassar warmly welcomes you.Since our establishment in 2010 we have accepted 13 batches of students, and produced 58 Endodontic Specialists who are absorbed as professional workers in various hospitals and clinics, both public and private in various regions of the archipelago.Endodontic Specialist Program is here to provide comprehensive solutions for scientific development in the field of dental and oral health in general and in the field of endodontic specialized in particular.Endodontic Specialist Program is part of the Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University, recognized as grade B based on Indonesian Accreditation Agency For Higher Education In Health (IAAHEH/LAM-PTKes) on March 5th, 2017, valid until March 4th, 2022. Decree number: 0086/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Spe/III/2017 (https://lamptkes.org/). To create a quality study program, in line with the Vision and Mission of the University and the Faculty, Endodontic Specialist Program has a vision: “To become a Endodontic Specialist Program with a superior maritime character and produce Endodontic Specialist who are ethical and virtuous in accordance with national standards and international perspective”.
To realize this vision, the mission is formulated as follows, first: to organize a student-centered learning process to produce endodontic specialist graduates who excelent in science and technology and fear God Almighty, secondly to conduct research that focuses on superior study programs. in the development of maritime materials to be used in dental and oral health services, especially in the field of endodontic specialist and finally in carrying out community service with promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative approaches in the field of endodontic specialists. The objectives of the Endodontic Specialist program are to improve the quality of endodontic specialist education services; improve the quality of research results and the competitiveness of endodontic specialist graduates as well as increase the productivity and creativity of community service programs based on endodontic specialist services.The Endodontic Specialist Program has advantages in the fields of research and community service based on maritime continents, as well as excellence in the field of endodontic surgery expertise. Supported by the latest facilities and technology that support specialist practice processes such as microscopes, endomotors, apex locators, rotary instruments, ultrasonic endodontics and many more.The educational curriculum of the Endodontic Specialist Program has been designed in accordance with the curriculum standards of the Indonesian Endodontic Collegium to shape the personality of a dentist who specializes in specialist hard skills, is capable of soft skills, and has high ethical attitudes and behavior.
Teaching and education are carried out by permanent lecturers who hold 2nd Degree of Endodontic Specialist (consultant) and doctoral degrees from well-known universities both at domestically and abroad, and have extensive experience in endodontic practices. The learning method is directed to become Student Centered Learning, which means that students are learning objects and lecturers are learning facilitators, so it is hoped that the learning method can provide understanding and learning experiences for students.
Teaching is carried out as part of the Tridharma of Higher Education and is supported by adequate and strong facilities and infrastructure. With the emergence of various opportunities and opportunities, we hope that Endodontic Specialist Program can continue to advance and contribute to all parties.

In 1984 with the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 139/Dikti/Kep/1984 and No. 141/Dikti/Kep/1984 it was decided to make 7(seven) programs for the education of specialist dentists. The establishment of the Endodontics Specialist Educational Programme is inseparable from the development of Science and Technology in Endodontics Specialist as a branch of clinical dentistry agreed upon by relevant stakeholders and endorsed by the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI).
In addition to the development of dental science and technology, the demands of the community’s need for health services, especially in the field of Endodontics Specialist and the demands of international developments need to be considered. International developments in the field of Endodontics Specialist are based on the development of science and technology, the community’s need for more specific and complex endodontics specialization services, and the demands of the profession according to the fragmentation of its knowledge in Indonesia.

Title to be attached to specialist programme of Conservative Dentistry Specialist Educational is Endodontist (Indonesia title: Spesialis Konservasi Gigi/Sp. KG). Graduates of the Endodontics Specialist, Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University Program are spread throughout Indonesia, especially eastern Indonesia. Most graduates serve as civil servants in hospitals. But some graduates work in private clinics and hospitals and as lecturer. Each graduate already has the ability and skills that are competent in their field. Until now, the Endodontics Specialist, Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University Program has produced 58 graduates spread throughout Indonesia.
The objective of the Endodontics Specialist Program is to produce graduates with competence including professional endodontics, educators, researcher, endodontics counselor, and manager who are able to compete internationally, which can be described as follow:
a. Professional
Graduates who are able to apply science and technology in providing endodontics specialist services to the community in accordance with applicable scientific, ethical and legal rules..
b. Clinician
Graduates who are able to carry out endodontics specialist services according to scientific principles to solve complex problems that occur in the community related to the health of dental and periradicular tissues.
c. Dental Center Providers and Managers
Graduates are able to provide and manage oral health services in intradisciplinary and multidisciplinary manner in solving endodontics specialist problems.
d. Scientists/Educators
Graduates who have expertise and are involved in the field of science and clinical endodontics specialist, and can act as educators who are more education-oriented.
e. Counselor
Graduates who has the ability to communicate and is an expert in counseling/extension to individuals, groups and communities in an effort to resolve the problem of endodontics specialist that occurs in the community in an intradisciplinary and multidisciplinary manner.
f. Researcher
Endodontists who has expertise in researching, reporting and publishing results in the field of endodontics specialist.
